Sahel a Egalité! is a campaign led by Oxfam and many partners from Sahelian civil society to demand concrete measures to reduce inequalities in the region.
This mapping of essential services is part of a campaign launched by the Sub-Regional Office for West Africa of WILDAF and Oxfam in July 2023 entitled “Essential quality services for all: It is time! ".
This campaign aims to call on the governments of the Sahel to invest more in essential services such as education and health to reduce gender inequality.
This mapping offers a digital educational tool to draw up an assessment of the current situation through a compilation of recent existing data on access to essential services in the region.
This data comes from both United Nations agencies and national statistical institutes of Sahel countries. As a priority, we looked for gender-disaggregated data and the most relevant indicators to illustrate the access of women and girls to essential services.
Data is essential to fuel activist advocacy, it is at your disposal!
